NEW DELHI: A man opened fire at former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah’s cavalcade, officials said on late Wednesday. He was accompanied by J&K deputy CM Surinder Choudhary. The officials said that the two were returning from a marriage function when the incident happened.Both the JKNC chief and the deputy CM escaped unhurt according to the officials. The accused was overpowered by security personnel and later arrested. Police, quoted by PTI, said the suspect is currently being interrogated and further investigation is under way. He was reportedly under the influence of alcohol.(More details awaited)
