Gold futures tumbled on Monday, slipping Rs 1,052 to close at Rs 1,60,582 per 10 grams, as local spot demand weakened. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, April gold contracts fell 0.65% in a turnover of 1,729 lots, with analysts pointing to soft global cues as the key factor behind the decline. Meanwhile, silver futures advanced amid global market uncertainties. The white metal for May delivery gained Rs 4,362, or 1.63, ending at Rs 2,63,923 per kilogram on the MCX, with 2,265 lots changing hands. Analysts said the rise was driven by fresh positions built up by market participants. On international markets, gold futures rose 1.50% to $5,090.94 per ounce in New York, while Comex silver futures increased by $1.20, or 1.01%, to $83.53 per ounce, reflecting continued volatility in precious metals globally.How much gold costs in your city today:
