Nayanthara is known for limiting promotional appearances. However, she made an exception for ‘Toxic’. According to the actor, Yash personally reached out to her. His call was enough to convince her to attend the event.Nayanthara shared her experience of working with Yash in ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’. The ‘Jawan’ actor spoke highly of her co-star during the film’s trailer launch. She also explained why she chose to attend the promotional event.
Nayanthara explains her decision to attend
Nayanthara said she does not avoid promotional events because she dislikes them. Instead, she admitted that she does not feel particularly comfortable participating in such activities.As quoted by Hindustan Times, Nayanthara said, “It’s not that I don’t want to attend promotional events… It’s just that I’m not very good at it. So I stay away from it… But this was special for many reasons. But i think it’s just Yash. He just made a call and it was enough for me to attend the event.”The actor then spoke about her first meeting with Yash. She recalled being struck by the actor’s presence. She compared his real-life personality to the larger-than-life image associated with his popular character Rocky Bhai.
‘Am I entering Rocky Bhai’s kingdom?’
Nayanthara said she had already worked with several leading stars. However, meeting Yash left a different impression on her.“The first time I met Yash… trust me I have worked with a lot of superstars, and they are all good, but with Yash when I met him the first time, the kind of larger-than-life image he actually has, that is how he is in person. I was like, oh, am I entering Rocky Bhai’s kingdom? It is like how you see it in the trailer, he is like that in real.”
Nayanthara praises Yash’s dedication
Nayanthara described Yash as one of the most hardworking actors she has worked with. She said his commitment was visible throughout the production.“But beyond that, I think everyone has spoken about his work ethics, but let me that I have never ever seen a more hardworking actor than this… Oh my god, every single day on set, I am just amazed at the way he worked. This man has given his four and a half years of his life… he has sacrificed his life, his time, everything he would enjoy with his kids, but he is just about work. He is just this monster-mind creation.”
Yash speaks about ‘Toxic’ delays
‘Toxic’ has faced several delays since its announcement in 2023. The project went on floors in 2024 and was filmed in Kannada and English.Yash addressed the extended production period at the trailer launch. He also spoke about the amount of work that went into making the film.
