CBSE LOC correction window 2026-27: Schools can edit Classes 10, 12 student details till November 7; check details

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the correction window for the List of Candidates (LOC) data submitted by schools for Classes 10 and 12 for the 2026-27 academic session. Schools can review and rectify errors in students’ particulars through the official CBSE portal, cbse.gov.in, until November 7, 2026.The correction facility is intended to allow schools to verify the accuracy of student information submitted to the board ahead of the upcoming board examinations. CBSE has clarified that the correction facility can be accessed only by schools. Students and parents cannot make changes to the submitted LOC data directly through the portal.

CBSE LOC correction window 2026-27: Parents asked to verify student details

Alongside the opening of the correction window, CBSE has reiterated its advisory to parents, urging them to carefully examine the personal and academic details submitted by their wards’ schools.Parents have been asked to verify the spelling of the student’s name, date of birth, mother’s name and father’s name. The board has also stressed that names should be entered in their complete form rather than using abbreviations or shortened versions, as several institutions and authorities require expanded names in official documents.CBSE has specifically advised parents of students planning to pursue education or other opportunities abroad to ensure that the surname has been correctly mentioned in the LOC. The board has also asked schools and parents to cross-check the date of birth and ensure that the particulars match the student’s passport, wherever one has been issued.

Subject selection requires careful verification

The board has also highlighted the importance of checking subject combinations entered in the LOC for both Classes 10 and 12. Students and parents should ensure that the subjects selected by their wards have been correctly recorded before the correction window closes.CBSE has cautioned that subject-related changes will not be entertained after the stipulated correction schedule. Any discrepancy in subject details could create complications at a later stage, making verification before the deadline particularly important. The board has placed the responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of the submitted information on parents, while schools will have to undertake the necessary corrections through the designated portal.

CBSE says correction facility will help ensure smooth examination conduct

Explaining the rationale behind opening the correction window, CBSE said the additional opportunity would enable schools, parents and students to ensure that accurate student information is reflected in the LOC.“By launching the correction window as per the above schedule, CBSE is once again providing the schools/parents/students another opportunity to ensure that only the correct data of the students is filled in the LOC. This will also help in the smooth conduct of the examinations,” the board stated in its official notice.Schools are required to complete the verification and correction process by November 7. Parents should coordinate with their respective schools if they identify any discrepancy in the submitted information, as individual students do not have direct access to the correction facility.Candidates can click on the link provided here to download the CBSE LOC correction window 2026.
