The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) is expected to release the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 notification shortly on the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. It is very important for admission into various law programs for the academic year 2027-28. Candidates looking forward to getting admission into any of the NLUs as well as other participating universities are recommended to visit the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, for notification and application process details.As per the trend of previous years, the CLAT 2027 Notification may be released in the latter half of July, whereas the online application process may begin in the month of August.

CLAT 2027 notification likely around July 20

Even though no official announcement has been made by the Consortium about the schedule, from the previous year’s admission process, it can be said that CLAT 2027 notification is expected to be out by mid-July 2026. The registrations began on August 1 last year, and the entrance test was conducted in December.Based on the same schedule for this year, it can be said that the applicants will probably have time to apply from August to October 2026, after which the entrance test will take place.All the details about the schedule will be notified officially by the Consortium in the form of an official notification.

Eligibility criteria for CLAT 2027

Eligibility criteria for undergraduate and postgraduate law courses are different from each other. In order to join UG law programs, a candidate needs to clear Class 12 or its equivalent with a minimum percentage of 45. Students coming from SC, ST, and PwD categories need to have a minimum percentage of 40.In order to join PG law courses, a candidate needs to be a holder of an LL.B. degree with a minimum percentage of 50. The reserved category candidates need to score at least 45 percent or its equivalent.

Once the registration window opens, candidates can complete the application process online by following these steps:

  • Click on the “CLAT 2027” registration link available on the homepage.
  • Register using a valid mobile number and create login credentials.
  • Fill in the application form with the required personal, academic and communication details.
