India-US trade portal sees 3,500 registrations within months of launch, says Piyush Goyal
“This Trade Facilitation Portal is a landmark initiative,” said Piyush Goyal

The India-US Trade Facilitation Portal has attracted around 3,500 registrations within months of its launch, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said, highlighting its role in helping Indian exporters, particularly MSMEs and first-time exporters, connect with American buyers. In a post on X, Goyal described the response as encouraging and said the initiative was creating new opportunities for businesses in both countries to establish partnerships and expand their presence in international markets. “Trust. Trade. Opportunities. This Trade Facilitation Portal is a landmark initiative seamlessly connecting businesses on both sides,” Goyal said. The portal is a digital business-to-business (B2B) marketplace launched by the Consulate General of India in New York, in collaboration with other Indian consulates in the United States and the Indian Embassy in Washington DC.Designed to facilitate trade between Indian exporters and US buyers, the platform provides a common digital space where businesses can showcase products, identify potential partners and explore commercial opportunities across sectors. It offers category-wise product listings, search tools and personalised dashboards to help users track business leads, monitor trade activity and assess engagement. The platform also hosts virtual exhibitions and curated product showcases, allowing exporters to reach potential buyers without relying solely on physical trade events. The initiative is aimed at simplifying cross-border business interactions and making the US market more accessible to smaller Indian enterprises seeking international customers.Highlighting its potential, Goyal said, “It will open up new opportunities for Indian businesses, particularly MSMEs & first-time exporters, to forge partnerships, explore new markets & expand their global reach.”The registrations mark an early response to the initiative as India seeks to strengthen business-to-business engagement with the United States and widen export opportunities for smaller enterprises.
