Maharashtra extends CAP registration deadline for engineering admissions: Check last date and key details here
The Maharashtra CET Cell has given engineering aspirants additional time to complete the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) registration by extending the deadline to July 16, 2026. The decision follows the resolution of a technical issue affecting the retrieval of JEE Main percentile scores through DigiLocker. Candidates have been urged to update or correct their applications before the revised deadline to secure consideration in the merit list.

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has extended the last date for online registration under the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for Engineering Degree admissions for the 2026-27 academic session to July 16, 2026. The extension comes after authorities resolved a technical issue that had prevented several candidates from fetching their JEE Main percentile scores through DigiLocker while submitting their applications. The CAP registration process began on July 2, 2026, and admissions are being conducted based on candidates’ performance in either MHT-CET 2026 or JEE Main 2026.

Name mismatch in DigiLocker caused score-fetch failures

According to the CET Cell, candidates’ JEE Main percentile scores are being retrieved directly from DigiLocker in line with the directions issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).However, several applicants encountered technical difficulties because the names appearing on their JEE Main scorecards did not exactly match the names recorded in their DigiLocker accounts. As a result, the system was unable to automatically fetch their JEE Main percentile scores during the online application process. The CET Cell said it coordinated with the NTA to resolve the issue, enabling affected candidates to access and import their JEE Main scores through the CAP portal.

Candidates advised to complete pending applications

Candidates who were previously unable to fetch their JEE Main percentile scores have been instructed to log in to the CAP portal, retrieve their scores and complete the application process before the revised deadline. The authorities have also provided an opportunity for applicants who had already confirmed their CAP applications without including their JEE Main percentile scores. Such candidates can now unlock their applications, fetch the missing scores and make the required corrections before resubmitting them.

Separate process for unlocking applications

The CET Cell has clarified that the procedure for unlocking applications will depend on the mode of document verification chosen by the candidate.Applicants whose forms were verified through E-Scrutiny must submit a grievance request on the portal to have their applications unlocked. Meanwhile, candidates whose documents were verified through Physical Scrutiny will be required to visit their respective Facilitation Centre (FC) or Scrutiny Centre (SC) in person to request the unlocking of their applications.

Merit list to include only complete applications

The CET Cell has urged all affected candidates to complete the application submission or correction process within the extended deadline. It has warned that applications remaining incomplete after the prescribed date will not be considered while preparing the engineering admission merit list. Candidates have therefore been advised to verify that all required details, including their JEE Main percentile scores wherever applicable, have been successfully updated before the registration window closes on July 16, 2026.Here is the link to the official notice for the MAH CET application deadline extension.
