A group of Indian people was waiting at the parking lot of a restaurant in the Colony when a black jeep came and the driver threatened them with a gun.

A multi-city chase took place in Texas after 34-year-old Ryan Edward Drouin, a known offender, threatened a group of men who were waiting at a parking lot of Sheesh Eatery & Lounge. According to reports based on surveillance footage of a restaurant, the incident took place on Juluy 29. These Indian men were waiting at the parking lot for their orders. The footage showed that a Jeep came towards them and they started running. Reports said the suspect lowered his window and displayed a firearm and demanded money from that group. The attempted robbery at the Colony, a city in Texas, was not successful but it was reported to the police and officers obtained the Jeep’s license plate number from area surveillance footage and entered it into the Flock Safety License plate reader system. None of the Indian men were hurt.As the hunt for the gun-wielding culprit began, the cops found that the Jeep was heading towards Plano. Police tracked the vehicle to Drouin’s father’s home in Plano, from where Drouin again escaped and this started a vehicle chase. While the parking lot incident took place just after 11 pm at around 2.12 am, Plano police notified Richardson patrol units that they lost sight of the Jeep. Richardson officers tracked down the Jeep and attempted a traffic stop. But Drouin refused to pull over and then another chase started — this time it went into Dallas.During the chase, Drouin fired at Richardson officers who returned fire. The pursuit ended near Alpha Road and Hughes Lane in Dallas after the Jeep became disabled. Officers took Drouin into custody at the scene, and Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel took him to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.Drouin has a lengthy criminal history with previous arrests including making a terroristic threat, burglary, and drug offenses. He’s also been convicted of family violence assault in Collin County. The investigation involves all police departments as the Colony Police Department is probing the primary aggravated robbery investigation. The Dallas Police Department is leading the investigation into the officer-involved shooting because the gunfire exchange and arrest happened within Dallas city limits.
