The official trailer of Salman Khan’s ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace’ was cleared by the Censor Board on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film also stars Chitrangada Singh in a key role. However, its release on the earlier expected date of November 6 now looks unlikely.

‘Maatrubhumi’ trailer gets U/A 16+ certificate

As per official records cited in a Bollywood Hungama report, the ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace’ trailer has received a U/A 16+ certificate and runs for 4 minutes and 43 seconds. The film itself is yet to get its censor certificate, which has delayed its theatrical arrival.

New release date likely soon

The report stated the producers are now considering a new release schedule, with November 20 or December 11 as the target dates. Jio Studios will handle the all-India theatrical distribution. An official announcement on the revised date is expected shortly.

From ‘Battle Of Galwan’ to a new title

The film was first announced as ‘Battle Of Galwan’ and was renamed earlier this year. It is based on the 2020 military standoff between India and China. The project earlier faced clearance hurdles over its theme and references to China at a time of changing diplomatic ties between the two countries before it received government clearance.

Salman Khan as Colonel Santosh Babu

Salman plays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the Commanding Officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, who led Indian troops during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash and was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra. The film shows his leadership, strength and ultimate sacrifice along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), with his character at the centre of both the action and the emotional core.

Supporting cast

Mukesh Rishi, Ankur Bhatia, Zeyn Shaw and Abhilash Chaudhary play key roles as military officers and other personnel involved in the border operation. Vijay Raaz has lent his voice as the narrator.
