UK woman sexually assaulted on London Tube train police issue




British Transport Police (BTP) have launched a CCTV appeal after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted aboard a train in the UK, releasing images of a man they wish to identify in connection with the incident.According to investigators, the assault took place between 2pm and 3pm on May 7 after the suspect boarded a train at Northampton railway station.Police said the man allegedly sexually assaulted a woman during the journey before getting off at Coventry station.Detectives have now issued a CCTV image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries. The individual is described as walking with a distinctive limp.In a statement, BTP said officers believe the man pictured could have information relevant to the investigation and appealed to members of the public to come forward if they recognise him.The force has asked anyone with information to text BTP on 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 485 of May 7. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.The appeal comes amid ongoing investigations into separate allegations of sexual assaults on Britain’s rail network, including an incident on a London Underground District Line train near Putney Bridge station.Police inquiries into the Northampton-Coventry incident remain ongoing.
